THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Spring 2017 Quilt Show!! Even with the wind and snow storm, folks losing power to finish their quilts, over 100 quilts were on display. With each quilt show, we have to opportunity to enjoy so many different styles of quilters. CONGRATULATIONS to our WINNERS…
Best LARGE Quilt: Cheryl Bond’s “Batik Farmer’s” The Farmer’s Wife by Laurie Aaron Hird This quilt was a monthly club project sponsored by Chestnut Bay Quilting. It has
been a long seven years, but the quilt is finally completed.
Best MEDIUM Quilt: Jill Escriva She wanted to use civil war fabrics to make a “modern” quilt. After all, her great grandma was a modern woman, taking and developing her own photographs. The simple grid pattern, color transition and circular quilting make this quilt, unexpectedly modern.
Best SMALL Quilt: Linda A. Bull Please enjoy this paper pieced wall hanging
Best Appliqued Quilt: Michele Gailey “Spring Bouquet by Edyta Sitar Michele thought this would be an easy quil to “whip out”. Little did she know the hours she would spend sewing around all the flowers and leaves.
Best Hand-Quilted Quilt: Terry Antinore Vintage Valentine
Congratulations to Jeanne Holote, she was our Quilt Show Attendee Winner!
Thank you, to all our “helpers” We had people helping with the set-up, take-down, and at the show. We couldn’t have done it withoutyou!!!

Each month, we’ve been featuring one of our SEWING MACHINES in the Shop News. This month, we’re featuring one of our favorites: the Lotus!! If you’re in the market for a new sewing machine (or know someone who is), we are loving the Lotus. It’s lightweight, and its built-in carrying case and on-board tools make it a great machine for taking to classes. The carrying case converts to a sewing surface when you
open it, or you can remove it to use the free-arm feature. At only $749, it’s loaded with features you
usually only find on the higher-end machines: an automatic thread cutter, a programmable needle up/down button, a start/stop button, and many more. Stop in and test-drive our floormodel, and you’ll see why we
like it so much!!
Our Inspiration of the Month is this stunning quilt, made by and loaned to us by Myra Dewey. Myra used
the Painted Forest pattern to make this beauty. And all the negative space is perfect for practicing
your machine quilting techniques!!
